Accessibility statement

A site that excludes people is a badly designed site. Here is what has been done, what is known to be imperfect and how to tell us when something blocks you.

The standard this site aims for

This site targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the level most commonly referenced in law and procurement, and it is the level we design client work to as well.

What has been done

  • Body text, headings, links and button labels are checked against their backgrounds for at least 4.5:1 contrast. Several brand colours are deliberately deepened for text use because the lighter tints do not pass.
  • Every page uses real heading structure, landmark regions and a “skip to content” link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
  • All interactive elements are reachable by keyboard and show a visible focus outline.
  • Images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text; decorative images are marked so assistive technology skips them.
  • Motion is limited, and the reveal animations are disabled entirely for anyone whose system requests reduced motion.
  • Content is readable without JavaScript, and page text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to small screens.

Known limitations

  • Some portfolio images are full-page captures of client websites. Their alternative text describes the project rather than transcribing every word shown in the capture.
  • Case-study imagery reproduces client branding, including colour combinations chosen by those clients, which may not meet AA contrast within the image itself.
  • This site has not been audited by an independent third party.

Tell us if something blocks you

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible to use, we want to know, it is a bug, not an edge case. Email paigewrightdesign@gmail.com or call (636) 674-9475. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will reply within a few business days and give you the information another way while the problem is fixed.
